Dr. Gareth Dyke joins the Edanz Learning team!

Meet Gareth, palaeontologist and author of more than 280 peer-reviewed articles in top journals such as Nature and Science. Dr. Dyke manages the Taylor & Francis journal Historical Biology as Editor-in-Chief. Here he briefly introduces himself as Edanz’s newest team member!

Hi, I’m Gareth Dyke. I did my PhD in palaeontology and have worked in the US, Ireland, and the UK as an academic.

My research is on dinosaurs and the evolution of flight and feathers in birds. I’m very interested in anatomy and biomechanics and the relationship between physics and biology. I’ve published more than 290 peer reviewed articles in my career, including in Nature and Science.

I’m the Editor-in-Chief of a leading international journal (Historical Biology) and have therefore managed authors, reviewers, and other editors over the years on a daily basis. We know what makes a good and effective academic article!

These days my passion is helping other researchers from around the world to their work written up effectively and published in leading international journals. As part of the team at Edanz Learning Lab, my job is to answer any and all questions you might have about the writing and publishing process.

There are no silly questions or questions that are too small! Indeed, we find that most researchers, working in different countries globally, all tend to have the same questions about the writing and publishing journey, very often including how to:

– come up with a good research idea
– plan and carry out research projects
– write up research in English effectively
– pick a good, fast, high profile target journal
– manage the article submission process
– navigate peer review successfully
– maximise the impact of an article throughout this process and once published

We are always here to help!

Why not get in touch with the Edanz Learning Lab team to find out more and discover how we can help you on your research, writing, and publishing journey. We are all in this together!
