About Edanz and our Learning Lab team

Edanz has offered support services to researchers around the world since 1995. Our global team features more than 300 research experts. Our mission is to empower scientists around the world as they navigate the complexities of the research cycle. In 2019 Edanz joined the M3 Group, which serves more than 2 million doctors worldwide.

Dr. Julian Tang

Doctor Tang’s science communications began as a writer with Nature Publishing Group, then as an editor at the National Children’s Hospital in Japan, and later as an editor and educator with Edanz.

He has worked closely with multinational corporations, national hospitals, and universities to advise clinicians and researchers on grant application and publishing strategies. 

Julian holds a PhD in Medicine and Health Sciences from the University of Melbourne, Australia.

Dean has a background in environmental science with a specialist interest in toxicology and public health. Her doctoral research work focused on molecular mechanisms of metal detoxification in an invertebrate model. Her other research interests include the mechanisms of toxicity and disease causation, and the occupational sources of xenobiotics and their physiological effects. Dr Meyer spent eight years working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, and has an extensive background in the areas of laboratory safety and environmental health.

Dr Meyer is a certified Editor in the Life Sciences (ELS) and joined Edanz Group as an editor in 2015.

  • currently senior statistician at the Department of Surgery, St Vincent’s Hospital and leader of statistics at a several international organizations

Publishing Expert and Project Manager Ayli has over 10 years combined experience in education, publishing, and editing. She is also a popular presenter of Edanz seminars for researchers. An Australian native and graduate of The University of Sydney, Ayli’s background in hearing and speech, combined with her publishing and editorial experience, and public speaking skills, make her a diverse and invaluable member of Edanz’s in-house Editorial Team.

“At Edanz, I help people through my publishing and editing knowledge, and seminar presentations, to meet their individual publication goals. At the same time, I’m fulfilling my own goal of helping people overcome any language barriers they face. It’s a win–win situation,” Ayli says.”

Amin works for Edanz as a scientific publication expert, research consultant, and education team leader. He completed his PhD in geo-environmental sciences at Kyushu University in 2012 with full support from a Japanese Government doctoral scholarship (MEXT). He was a visiting PhD student at the University of Alberta in Canada in 2011. Before joining Edanz, 

Amin was an assistant professor of environmental studies at Kyushu University. He has published in reputed international journals with high impact factors, such as Renewable and Sustainable Energy Review, Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies for Global Change, and the Journal of Cleaner Production.

Amin is an editorial board member of the Electronic Green Journal published by the University of California (UCLA).

Lilly graduated from Hollins University with a degree in Communication Studies. Lilly has written for a number online and print publications and edited content including presentations, personal essays, and research papers. Lilly is a member of the Edanz live education team and uses her experience in English instruction to assist early and mid-career researchers in writing high-quality English manuscripts.

Lilly is a Board-certified Editor in the Life Sciences and a Professional Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP).

Luke graduated with a BA (Hons) in English and Creative Writing from the University of Bolton in 2002. He moved to Japan in 2004, and spent 9 years teaching a wide range of focused English curricula to non-native speakers, awakening an interest in copy editing and the STM industry. Luke joined Edanz Group in 2013, where he applies his knowledge of the writing process, his love of language, and his attention to detail in his role as Quality Control Manager.

Luke is a Board-certified Editor in the Life Sciences.

Scott is the creator of Edanz Learning Lab. He specializes in online instructional design for professional development and holds a Master’s degree in education from the University of Southern Queensland, with postgraduate certification in Education Technology.

Scott has developed and delivered training programs for more than 50 organizations worldwide in fields such as: medical/pharma (Merck, Pfizer,  Banyu, NCGM hospital), business & finance (Deutsche Bank, Skandia, LEC Tokyo), big tech (Sony, Toshiba, Hitachi, Mitsubishi), government (The Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs), K-12 (Benesse, Ochanomizu Seminar) and higher education (Komazawa University, Gakushuin University, Asia University, Kaetsu University, and the Berlin School of Economics and Law).
